We cannot thank Pete Crisp, Saint FM’s god like engineer enough, he made 2 old farts and there carers sound like a half proficient band, and not like the group of chancers making it up as we go along that we are.

Below are the fruits of the evenings efforts, which Pete had for us as we walked out the door..I think we may be back to record a few more tracks.

Incidentally if you haven’t caught Tim on stage yourself, The Bone recommend you do, as quickly as you can, this guy is a legend.

We will be appearing on the Castle Stage, which as you can imagine is next to the castle some time during the day (times to be announced).  There are 2 other stages of live music entertaining you all day with the best Colchester has to offer.

Be a shame to miss it wouldn’t it?  The fun kicks off in Castle Park Colchester, 27th August 2001 at 11am.  More info about the festival can be found here

The Bone – Stripped will be back at The Bull tomorrow evening for the prestigious Live@6:45 slot.  Pop your head in on the way home for a cheeky beverage and some laid back funky blues.

And in other news….a heads up that the fulll electric Bony goodness will be at The Britannia next Friday, the 22nd June.  Come down and support this great little venue.

So it is with great pleasure that we present to you what might become a blues institution in Colchester, The Britannia.  It’s great to see a venue commit to a style of music that is not well covered in the town and run with it.  The Britannia will be hosting the best local blues bands throughout July (and hopefully beyond).  Here is a list of what you can look forward to:

• July 1st – Richard Dobney Blues Band
• July 8th – The Jon Cook Blues Band
• July 15th – Richard Townend & friends
• July 22nd – Black Cat Bone

Not sure about the last band, but the others, well what can I say, you will not see better musicians playing locally. If you think the blues is “samey, samey, chunky, chunky, I woke up this morning”, then I think you may be pleasantly surprised.

Check out these bands interweb pages and you will see what I mean, and if you are a fan of the blues then get down to The Britannia and support this (old)new venue.  Colchester needs a solid blues venue and this could well be it.

1st July – The V Bar, High Street, Colchester – Stripped for you acoustic aural delights

22nd July – The Britannia, Merrick Crescent, Colchester – A new venue, specialising in Blues, so well worth a look.  We will be all Electric and funky for you.

Colchester Free festival was put together by a (very) small team of enthusiastic individuals last year on less money than would be spent on a second hand car.  How we did it, god knows, but with the help and generosity of the people and businesses of Colchester it happened. We estimated that about 5000 people would show up and that we would raise enough money for one small stage in the park.  Well we ended up with 4 stages of music, arts throughout the park, a dedicated children’s area and more stalls than you could shake your wallet at. Oh and an estimated 15, 000 people came through the gates.

This year we are doing it all again on the 27th August and you can help.  We are currently looking for volunteers to help out on the day, we have jobs for all, and we need your help.  If you feel you can help for the day, or just an hour then please go over to the Festival Site and fill out the volunteers form.

So off  down the A120 we went on Saturday evening to St Anne’s Castle, a venue we have heard good things about and fancied playing for a while.

The Castle has started a new showcase night,  ”Rock the Castle” and James had asked us to play the first one.  Who are we to decline. The evening consisted of 4 bands, all playing a mixture of original material and covers, across varying styles…something for everyone you might say.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 45 min set, good to have a little blast with no pressure. We also received many compliments afterwards as well, which is also nice.

So if you fancy an evening of varied musical entertainment then I recommend there next RTC event on the 2nd July, more info can be found here.
